Rescuers had to be called after an elderly woman lost her balance and badly injured her hip.
Keswick Mountain Rescue along with the North West Ambulance Service were called at about 7.40pm on Sunday.
The 76-year-old was carefully descending the main Dodd Wood track on her e-bike when she and her male companion decided to rest for a moment and take in the view.
Unfortunately, having stopped she lost her balance and fell sideways, badly injuring her hip.
A passing group of mountain bikers provided initial help while waiting for rescuers to arrive. A vehicle was able to park near the casualty and some strong pain relief was provided before she was carried on a stretcher the short distance to the mountain rescue vehicle and from there to the ambulance.
