Furness College is getting set to launch its popular career-based adult education programme next week - and places still available.

Courses include IT user skills, business administration, team leading, warehousing and storage, customer service and retail.

Curriculum leader Matt Goslin insists there has never been a better time to take control of your own career and upskill, with so much uncertainty about the effect of the pandemic.

He said: “Whether you are an adult seeking employment, retraining for a career change or looking for support with career progression, we have a course for you.

“We are experienced and successful in providing our students with the skills they need to thrive in a range of careers and, given so much uncertainty in the jobs market, we are seeing an increase in people wanting to improve their CVs with new qualifications.”

Courses start next week online with the opportunity to do some learning at the Trinity Enterprise, next to the Channelside campus, with social distancing measures in place. There are no specific entry requirements.

Mr Goslin added: “It has been a fantastic experience working in both class groups and virtually. I was able to dictate the pace and fit the learning and course work into my own schedule.

"At times it felt that I had a private tutor whose support and encouragement was relentless.”
