PROPOSALS to turn a former carpet showroom into a gym have been approved.
Eden District Council have green lighted plans to convert the property at The Arches, Victoria Road, Penrith.
The applicant is listed as a Mr Lee.
According to the design and access statement: "No external changes are proposed to the building, with only maintenance to the windows if required, and as such, the appearance will remain the same as existing.
"The gym is proposed to allow 24-hour access to cater for all users, utilising a fob system for access – this is ever growing in popularity with gyms in Carlisle and the surrounding area providing this service.
"The proposal is a suitable for the location and will not have a detrimental impact ."
