We’ve been looking through our archives at events held at Rheged, near Penrith over the years.
Rheged, just off Junction 40 of the M6, was opened in 2000. Named after the ancient kingdom of Cumbria which stretched from Stranraer to Cheshire and over to the north east, the centre is owned by the Westmorland family of businesses and has hosted many awards ceremonies, festivals and launches over the years – with our photographers on hand to record them.
Hidden beneath its green grass roof is a busy venue offering a huge range of activities. It is home to arts and culture with live-streamed opera and ballet as well as films shown in the cinema; offers indoor and outdoor play, children’s workshops, cafes, shops and a full programme of events throughout the year.
