Tim Bannister, Rightmove’s Director of Property Data said: “National average asking prices are just a few hundred pounds shy of July’s record, and buyer demand is at an all-time high.
"Those currently looking for their next home are likely to find that only offers close to the asking price will be considered, especially for larger homes.”
Based on this data, here are the property hot spots in Cumbria- and some house you can buy in the sought after regions.
1. Millom
Data suggests that this is the most popular place to move to in Cumbria.
Over five years, the average asking price for a property in the area has increased by 22.2%
Currently, the average asking price for a house here is £133,426.
One property on Lapstone Road in Millom is being sold for £130,000.
It has four double bedrooms and is ideal for families.

2. Walney
Walney is clearly a desirable place to live as the average asking price has increased by 19.8%.
As of August 2020, the average asking price for a house is £148,650.
If you are looking to move to this popular estate, then there is currently a house for sale on Orion Terrace for offers in the region of £142,500.
The two bedroom property is ideal for downsizers who also want a conservatory in their home.

3. Grange-Over-Sands
Between August 2015 and 2020, average asking prices of properties increased by 17.3%.
Currently, the average asking price for a house here is £297,213.
For £230,000 you can buy a two bedroom bungalow on Rightmove.
It’s on Windermere Road and is describes as “deceptively spacious”.

4. Barrow-in-Furness
The average asking price for house in Barrow-In-Furness has increased by 14.8% over the course of five years.
The current average property price here is £149,382.

The average house price right now is £152,791- which is an increase of 13% over five years.
