A WOMAN was airlifted off a mountain in the Lake District after dislocating her hip while out walking.
Langdale/Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team (LAMRT) attended the incident on Bowfell, in the Southern Fells area, at around 4pm on Saturday.
An LAMRT spokesman said the woman suffered the injury while descending the mountain.
He said: “She was treated by team members and evacuated to a waiting air ambulance.”
The incident required 12 members of the mountain rescue team for a total of three hours.
