Businesses in Cumbria are being encouraged by the county's official destination management organisation to get themselves registered for the Government's "kickstart" scheme.
Cumbria Tourism has encouraged businesses not to miss out on the scheme, which provides funding to employers for the creation of new six-month job placements for young people on Universal Credit at risk of long-term unemployment.
A spokesman for Cumbria Tourism said: "There is £1,500 of funding available for each job placement to set up support and training, as well as helping pay for uniforms and other set-up costs."
