North Cumbria's air ambulance medics were scrambled to more than 130 callouts last month.

Great North Air Ambulance's critical care team responded to 137 callouts across September.

This includes 80 incidents responded to by air, and a further 56 by car.

A spokesman for the air ambulance charity said: "We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has allowed us to carry on our life-saving service through this pandemic.

"With your help, we fly on."
