Northern rail has launched a search for the next generation of black, ethnic minority, female and younger employees.
The rail operator says it wants to "improve diversity levels within its workforce" and plans to create 160 new roles.
It hopes to engage with a new generation of people, who have never considered working in the rail industry.
Neil Stephenson, head of learning and talent at Northern, said: “As an industry we are keen to deliver a diverse workforce that represents the communities we serve and attract the next generation to rail.
"We has made progress over the past years and there is more work to do, this is another step towards an inclusive workforce."
