Three new deaths have been recorded by NHS trusts with hospitals in Cumbria.

NHS England figures released yesterday included a new death at the North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust - which operates the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle and the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven - recorded on October 22.

The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust - which runs hospitals in south Cumbria as well as Lancashire - announced three new deaths in yesterday's figures.

The data shows two of the deaths were recorded on October 23 and one on October 21.

Figures released today (October 25) did not include any new deaths at either trust.

Public Health England figures reveal there were 151 new cases in Cumbria included in yesterday's announcement.

This means the total number of people who have tested positive for coronavirus since the start of the pandemic stands at 5,914.

For each area in Cumbria, the number of new cases were as follows:

Allerdale - 15 (754)

Barrow - 33 (1,409)

Carlisle - 39 (1,412)

Copeland - 21 (636)

Eden - 15 (493)

South Lakeland - 28 (1,210)
