A MANUFACTURING company has assured the public it is following “comprehensive” safety measures after the confirmation of Covid-19 among staff at its west Cumbrian factory.
Sportswear company New Balance has confirmed the presence of Covid-19 at its Flimby site.
While the company did not indicate the number of staff who have tested positive for the virus, a spokesman for the company stressed that all necessary steps are being taken to contain the presence of Covid-19.
A spokesman for the company said yesterday: “New Balance’s top priority is to maintain the health and safety of our associates, customers, and communities. We are following our comprehensive health and safety procedures at our Flimby factory to ensure any associates affected by Covid-19 are taking the necessary steps to isolate or seek medical attention as needed.
“A mobile testing centre visited the factory today, which remains open, as part of the region’s test and trace programme.
“We greatly appreciate the support of all associates who participated.”
