You can do your bit to help disadvantaged children in Cumbria and South West Scotland to experience the magic of Christmas this year.

Today, once again a tremendous campaign launches to ensure thousands of youngsters who might otherwise go without have something to open on December 25.

Cash for Kids Mission Christmas is an annual appeal to make sure no child wakes up on Christmas morning with nothing to open.

Together, we can make a real difference this festive season.

Normally Mission Christmas would get off to a flying starting seeing CFM's breakfast presenter Robbie Dee and charity executive Sara Oldham dash down the aisles of St Nicholas Gates's B&M Bargain Store in Carlisle.

The pair have always proved themselves to be stars as they would sprint down the aisles of B&M Bargain Store, collecting toys to get the appeal off to a healthy start.

However, this year lockdown has put a stop to launch events and a number of different events that help to raise funds for the month-long appeal. But this won't stop a team of elves working tirelessly to make sure each child has the Christmas they deserve.

Sara Oldham explained: "This Covid crisis has plunged more families than ever into poverty across Cumbria and south west Scotland so we are asking if we, can once again, count on your support for Mission Christmas 2020.

"As you know for the families and children we support, without your help they will wake up to nothing on Christmas morning. And with so many events and special occasions having to be cancelled this year, we cannot lose the magic of Christmas for these children.

"Thank you so much for your incredible support for CFM Mission Christmas. Every single donation, no matter how big or small, can be the difference between a child waking up with or without a present on Christmas Day.

"We know times are difficult, but we would really appreciate you supporting us once again to ensure no child goes without."

You can help make sure every child in Cumbria wakes up to a present to open on Christmas morning.

By donating a gift to one of the drop-off points near you, you will make sure that disadvantaged children near you get something on Christmas day.

All gifts should be new and unwrapped, and you can drop them off at locations across Cumbria and South West Scotland.
