MORE than a hundred cases of Covid has been reported in Cumbria over the last 24 hours.

119 coronavirus cases have been recovered in Cumbria, according to official figures.

Public Health England figures show that 9,150 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19, as of 9am this morning.

Cases are up from 9,031 on Monday.

The rate of infection in Cumbria now stands at 1,830 cases per 100,000 people, which is still far lower than the England average of 2,153.

Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 20,051 over the same period.

The total number of cases stands at 1,410,732.

Cumbria's cases were among the 280,261 recorded across the North West, a figure which rose by 2,443.
