SHOPPERS will be able to enjoy late night shopping in the lead up to Christmas in a Cumbrian town.
Penrith is preparing to host late night shopping every Thursday from December 10, to help customers get their Christmas shopping done.
Some stores are also extending their Monday to Saturday hours too.
Running weekly up until Christmas Eve the town centre will be illuminated by sparkling Christmas lights as a range of shops will be open until 7pm.
Penrith BID Manager Philippa Ball said: “You can be assured of relaxed and safe Christmas shopping in Penrith throughout December. The Thursday late night opening means shoppers can enjoy our sparkling Christmas lights and the Penrith angels, which are bringing a smile to old and young alike.”
"We know that Christmas shopping will be a bit different this year, but we are delighted that Cumbrians are joining in with the #ShopLocal campaign and supporting Penrith’s shops and eateries as well as enjoy the sparkly Christmas lights.
“Forget 'out of stock' notices and waiting around for the postman; support your local high street and get all your Christmas shopping done in one trip to Penrith!”
