FIRE crews battled to put out a barn fire in Temple Sowerby.
A crew from Appleby Fire Station were mobilised shortly after 9am this morning (January 4) to assist Penrith crews.
A spokesman from Appleby Fire Station said: “At its peak this incident had six appliances for water supply.
“As always with barn fires they turn into protracted incidents and involve removing all the hay and damping down thoroughly.”
