CUMBRIA Police have offered advice to drivers in the region on how to be prepared for the Winter weather on the roads.

They have urged driver to make sure their vehicle is ready and to check weather conditions before setting off.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: "It's worth packing a few essentials items in your car boot to make sure you're ready in case of getting stuck in cold and wintry weather."
