We have compiled a list of our five most read court stories published this week.

  • A dad of three has been jailed for three years after he bit of part of another man's ear in a late-night attack.
  • An ex-boyfriend who arrived “intoxicated” at an address where his former partner was, twice slapped her, leaving her with a burst lip, a court heard.
  • A man and woman will be sentenced by a judge later this year after their dog bit three different people passing their Carlisle home on separate dates last March.
  • A man has appeared in court after a police pursuit which involved the force helicopter.
  • A man suffered a fractured skull and brain bleed when he was punched to the ground outside an Egremont pub. ‬
