A LAKE District holiday accommodation business is offering funding to assist guest houses in the national park during the coronavirus pandemic.

Skies Holidays is also offering support and guidance to each guest house and accommodation business that applies.

A spokesman for the company said: “The recent and ongoing actions of government to help curb the spread of Covid-19 have left a dramatic impact on guesthouses.

"These small businesses that have had to close with limited support are often run by families.

"During the winter season, these self-employed business owners will be feeling the pinch more than ever.

“We partner with businesses offering accommodation in the Lake District to help support and promote guest houses in an ever-more challenging industry.”

The spokesman said: "We can fully appreciate the difficulties that most guesthouses face this winter and, with the future being so uncertain, communities and businesses need to come together.”

There will only be a limited number of successful applicants for the funding, which includes up to £1,000 for guest houses in Cumbria.

Any guest houses that want to seek help and to apply for the 'Skies funding Covid recovery fund' are asked to get in touch with Skies Holidays on info@skiesholidays.co.uk or on the number 01539 324055. An application form will be sent out. Further information can also be found at skiesholi days.co.uk.
