Hospice at Home West Cumbria has thanked Susan Farrar-Herd who has raised more than £1,600 for them by making and selling hot chocolate bombs and cupcakes.

Susan, from Bigrigg, made 620 carefully crafted chocolate bombs which were filled with marshmallows and dusted with colourful lustre dust to look like festive Christmas baubles. The chocolate bombs are covered in hot milk and melt into a chocolatey drink.

Susan said: “I decided to make the hot chocolate bombs to keep my mind occupied, and thought it would be a great way to support HHWC at the same time. As soon as I posted a picture on Facebook of ones I had made for my sisters and nieces, the orders exploded! Hospice is a charity close to our family’s heart and I’m thrilled with the amount that was raised”.

Susan thanked Sue Kay, who helped build the boxes and nieces Kate Leonard and Anya Steele who designed the labels for each box.
