It is not too late to get creative and take part in the Penrith and Eden Window Wanderland initiative.

Suggested by the Penrith Chamber of Trade and Commerce and Eden Valley Artistic Network, the idea is to create stunning window displays to brighten up the dark winter nights.

Free packs are available to collect from Penrith library in order to take part and produce an impressive window effect.

Penrith Library are currently still giving out the packs, so that a window display can be created.

Packs supply materials for creating the window including tissue paper, black sugar paper, a glue stick and a ‘How to’ guide.

Phone Penrith Library on 01768 812103 to arrange a time to pick one up.

Visit the Window Wanderland website http://orlo.uk/R3MG3 to see peoples creations and gain inspiration. There is also a Penrith and Eden Window Wanderland Facebook page, where anyone can post a photo of their finished window.

People have been having lots of fun transforming their windows into a magical outdoor gallery.

Staff at Penrith library enjoyed decorating a window with a theme of 'The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.

Others taking part include Appleby library staff, who created an adorable sheep themed artwork and Kirkby Thore Primary School. There has also been interest from Kirkby Stephen and Alston Moor.

Community artist, Gwen Bainbridge, is supporting the event and working with local contacts to develop interest throughout the district. To get involved email Gwen at: info@gwenbceramics.co.uk.

The project started at the beginning of December, but will run until February 28.
