A MAN was rescued after breaking his ankle near the top of Blake Fell.
Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team got the call yesterday.
A spokesman for the team said: "A 59-year old male slipped and sustained a leg injury near Blake Fell summit.
"Team members went to the casualty's location, treated him and stretchered him back to a vehicle on the forest road above Cogra Moss.
"From there he was driven to West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven."
