A DRIVER who broke down on the M6 is being dealt with for a "long list of traffic offences" say police.
Cumbria Constabulary said a southbound lane was closed off, near Calthwaite, to deal with the incident after they were contacted at 7.56am today.
A spokesman added: "Police were contacted by Highways England to a report of an abandoned vehicle on the M6 Southbound hard shoulder, near Penrith.
"The vehicle a Mercedes Van was uplifted on account of no insurance and an expired MOT, the driver a 48-year-old man from Glasgow, has been reported to DVLA for driving otherwise in accordance with his licence and without insurance.
"The lane was temporarily closed but has since re-opened."
