A PRODUCT from Co-op is being recalled due to fears it may contain pieces of plastic and be unsafe to eat.
The Food Standards' Agency said: "Co-op is recalling Irresistible Ginger and Dark Chocolate Cookies because they may contain pieces of plastic.
"The presence of plastic makes this product unsafe to eat.
"Co-op is recalling the above product. Point-of-sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling this product.
"These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product. Please see the attached notice."
The product pack size is 200g and has a best before date of June 2, 2021 and June 3, 2021.
Advice given to customers is that if you have bought the above product, do not eat it.
Instead, return it to your nearest store for a full refund.

The FSA issues Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food. In some cases, a 'Food Alert for Action' is issued.
