IT’S been weeks since we have been able to take a trip to the hairdressers- and many of us are in desperate need of a haircut.

In England, hairdressers have been closed since the third national lockdown was imposed on 5 January.

Earlier this week (22 February) the Prime Minister announced a roadmap out of lockdown which will see venues gradually opening and the world slowly returning to ‘normality’.

The government has said that hairdressers, along with other beauty salons, will not be permitted to reopen again until 12 April- after this, their reopening will be considered.

While this date is still a little far off, we can start planning our next big cut and even consider going somewhere entirely different when they do reopen.

According to Yell.com, these are three of the top-rated hairdressers in Penrith.

Will you be trying any of them out after lockdown?

They offer a range of hair and beauty treatments, including hair colouring, extensions and nail treatments.

After so many months of being stuck inside, a spray tan at the hairdressers would be welcomed.

People have great things to say about this salon- even those with curly hair.

One reviewer said: “I went for a haircut today and despite the current circumstances, I still received friendly, relaxed and excellent treatment.

“The team are so welcoming and lovely and I always look forward to my appointment.

“Thank you to Helen, my chosen hair dresser- having curly hair myself it is great to have someone cut it that does as they understand my pain.”

The salon took to Facebook after the Prime Minister’s announcement and said: “We are making a list of appointments and we will be in touch nearer the time with more updates when we know.

“Looking forward to getting back to the salon and welcoming you all back.”
