With the help of Zoopla, we have tracked down some of the most expensive streets and areas in the county of Cumbria- and can also reveal how much a house could cost you if you chose to live on these streets.

We have also narrowed down that search and have found the most expensive streets and areas in and around Penrith too.

The 10 most expensive streets in Cumbria

According to the Zoopla data, Windermere reigns supreme when it comes to the highest value streets, occupying seven out of ten rankings.

These figures are based on the average property value in a given area.

According to the data, the highest value street in Cumbria is Newby Bridge Road in Windermere.

The average property value on this street is an eye-watering £1,583,146.

However, some properties on the street have sold for much more than this in the past.

One five bedroom property last sold for £1,850,000 and has a current upper estimated value of £3.36m.

In second place is  Old Hall Road in Windermere, where the average property value is £1,276,550.

One of the pricier properties on the road was last sold for £1,650,000 and has an upper estimated value of £3.48m.

Ambleside also features twice on the list, with Great Langdale coming in at fourth.

This average property price here is £1,064,247 and the average value of houses in Great Langdale has increase by 4.63 per cent in the last 12 months.

One of the more expensive properties sold for £2.8 million a few years ago and has a current estimated value of £2.7 million.

Manesty in Keswick also makes a brief appearance on the list- it is rated as the sixth highest value area in Cumbria.

The average property price on here is £1,001,551.

However, homes on the street have been known to sell for upwards of £1.2 million.

According to the Zoopla statistics, Holbeck Lane in Windermere is in tenth place- but the average property price on the street is still an eye-watering £955,311.

One house sold for £700,000 but now has an upper estimated value of £1.37 million.

The most expensive areas and streets in and around Penrith

Using data from Zoopla, we have also tracked down the highest value streets and areas in and around Penrith.

The average property value in Penrith is £254,907 (according to Zoopla)- these five listing are at least  more than this.

Hutton John

According to Zoopla, Hutton is one of the highest value property areas in Penrith.

The average property value in the area is £692,195 and one of the more expensive homes in Hutton John has an upper estimated value of £909,000.

Howtown

In second place is Howtown where the average property value is £622,763.

There are some seriously impressive properties in Howtown, one of which has an estimated value of £1.42-£2.13 million.

Hartsop

Would you like to live in Hartsop?

If so, your property will have an estimated value of £602,256.

However, homes in this area have been known to sell for much more and some properties in the area are worth just under £1 million.

Brougham Hall Gardens

Properties in Brougham Hall Gardens have an estimated value of £560,022.

One house in the are sold for £140,000 back in the 90s- now it has an estimated value of £532,000.

This may be last on the list- but the average property value is far from low.

In Matterdale, the average property value is £545,795.

One of the ‘big ticket’ properties in Matterdale has and estimated upper value of £812,000.
