A HGV driver has died on M6 motorway
A HGV driver has died on the motorway following a medical incident.
The M6 exit Southbound towards Southwaite Services closed after a report of an incident.
A Cumbria Police spokesperson said: “Police were contacted at 07:56am today (Monday, July 12), by Highways England, due to concerns for the welfare of a HGV driver, on the grass verge of the M6 slip road, to the Southwaite Services.
"Emergency services attended, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious.
"A file has been passed to the coroner.
"The slip road was closed whilst emergency services attend the scene, but has since reopened."
