A COUNCIL decided to keep a popular splash pad closed after a spike in covid cases.
The splash pad is popular with tourists and resideants in Silloth but the council have decided it is too much of a risk to open it.
A spokesman for the council said: "Due to the recent spike in positive covid cases in primary aged children in Silloth and the surrounding areas, the decision has been made to delay the switching on of the Water Splash Pad on the Green.
"We appreciate this will be disappointing news but the safety of our residents and visitors is our priority.
"The situation will be reviewed again at the end of July."
