Two men will complete a walking fundraiser for a Cumbrian hospice.

Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland supporter, Cameron Stewart, and friend Andy Airey, are walking a loop of 8 miles around Penrith for 24 hours non stop in kilts to raise donations and awareness for Hospice at Home and The Holocaust Education Charity in just under a months time.

Cameron, a serial fundraiser, and a long-time supporter of the hospice, has a Just Giving page where people can donate for the cause, where it reads: "I am walking for 24 hours non stop round Penrith, in a kilt from Sunday 21st to Monday 22nd November.

"My route starts at the town clock and goes out towards red hills, then to Yanwath and back by Eamont bridge and into town.

"Every hour, I’ll be lighting a candle to pay tribute to both Hospice at Home staff and the other cause, The Holocaust Memorial Trust, that I’m equally supporting and the donations will be split.

"The candles will be a symbolism of light and how heroism and kindness is the best of humans.

"I hope you can support these two incredible causes and maybe walk some of the time with me and Andy Airey who is doing the whole challenge with me.

"Thank you."

A spokesperson from Hospice at Home wrote: "Hospice at Home provides high quality care and support for adults who have palliative and end of life care needs, whilst also supporting their families and carers.

"As a charity we rely on the kindness and generosity of our local community.

"Although we receive some funding from the NHS, we need to raise over 80% of our running costs in order to ensure that this vital help is available when needed and remains free of charge to patients and their families.

"We cannot thank the pair enough for their continued support and wish them all the best in this fantastic challenge."
