A CARLISLE man who admitted robbing a pizza delivery man is to be sentenced at the city's crown court on Thursday.

Billy Moorhead, 35, committed the offence on July 28 last year, stealing a 12-inch meat feast pizza, and various kinds of booze and cigarettes.

Two other men were due to go on trial at the crown court on an identical robbery charge, but the prosecution accepted their plea to an alternative allegation of theft instead.

All three will be sentenced on Thursday.

According to court papers, Moorhead, of Welsh Road, Harraby, stole both the pizza and two bottles of Smirnoff Vodka, two 1.5 bottles of coke and a packet of 20 cigarettes.

The men who admitted theft were George-Alexandru Pruna, 28, of Warwick Square, Carlisle and Jonathan David Rogers, 41, of Cumwhinton Road, Carlisle.

Pruna and Moorhead were remanded in custody until their sentence hearing and Rogers was granted bail.
