A THIRTY-nine-year-old Carlisle man is facing a magistrates' court trial on an allegation of shoplifting and two alleged assaults.
Lewis Brown, of Newcastle Street, is accused of stealing cosmetics worth £121 from Boots in English Street on December 9. The assault charges relate to alleged assaults on November 28 in Carlisle on two men.
The defendant denies all three allegations.
Magistrates remanded Brown in custody until February 1 for a trial. The defendant was represented in court by defence lawyer Mark Shepherd.
