A PUB in Cumbria has been named the cosiest in Britain.

Radiance Fireplaces conducted a study to find the cosiest pubs in Britain for a warm weekend and number one was Hole in t’ Wall in Bowness.

The study analysed TripAdvisor reviews for mentions of the word ‘cosy’ to find out which pub locals think is the warmest and most inviting place to have a pint.

Hole in t’ Wall was found to be the cosiest pub in the UK, with 144 mentions of the word on TripAdvisor.

Hole in t’ Wall also has a 4.6 rating on Google.

The Pheasant Inn, Keswick also placed in the top 10 at number six with 84 'cosy' mentions.

The top ten cosiest pubs were:

2. The Old Thatch Tavern, Stratford-upon-Avon

3. The Cottage Loaf, Llandudno

4. The Three Pilchards, Cornwall

5. The World's End, Edinburgh

6. The Pheasant Inn, Keswick

7. Polgooth Inn, Saint Austell

8. The Red Lion Inn, Alnmouth

9. Packhorse Inn, Bakewell

10. The Castle Inn, Dorset
