MORE than 400 native British trees will be planted in Penrith in response to The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Green Canopy Appeal by the Woodland Trust.
On Wednesday, November 23 Penrith Rotary Club will provide individuals and community groups the opportunity to acquire and plant trees in honour of The Queen's service.
The Rotary Club invited 4Eden, a learning disability charity, to plant the trees alongside Club members.
The first sapling will be planted by president of the Rotary Club John Shorter, Mayor of Penrith Charlie Shepherd and chief officer of 4Eden Jacqui Taylor.
