Outstanding in beauty and full of hidden treasures, visitors can take in the warmth and wonder of the Lake District’s charm, with its exciting attractions and spectacular views.

With extensive gardens and grounds, discover the orchard, rose garden, pond and the lost castle playground. Again, for the history buffs head to the ruins of Penrith Castle, walk across the castle’s moat on the wooden footbridge and enter Penrith’s history. Wander the 20-mile walking loop around Ullswater that can be walked in either direction or from any starting point. Plan for a full walking day out as there’s plenty of on route stop-offs, sights and a generous amount of resting place to take in the impressive views.
